Sans and Blaster Animation +Process

One day I single-handedly lost both my shame and my sense of reason and started working on this personal project, which involved fully modeling, texturing and rigging two characters, and then making them interact in a short animation.

Regardless, I still had a lot of fun the whole way through, and am glad to have realized this little idea I had in mind.
Everything was done through Maya and Substance Painter.

I attempted to create a model that was relatively true to original design.

Fully rigged model, including facial blendshapes, IK limbs and spine, foot attributes (swivel, foot roll, etc) as well as a slipper ctrl to bend the back of it.

Posing practices to get used to the rig while also testing the skin weights.

First animation test.

Decided to also rig a blaster for the initial model to mount. Here I sculpted its main shape and silhouette.

Texture work was done in Substance Painter for both models.

Started the blocking phase of my animation. This was my last pass before commencing spline.
